Theresa (Terry) Jean (Burgard) Waterstradt

Theresa J. Waterstradt, 76 of Traverse City was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2021.

She was the daughter of Norman and Martha (Orick) Burgard. Terry was born on January 17, 1945 at Pontiac. She was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Martha of Monroe and her brother, Douglas R. of Roscommon.

She graduated from Dundee Community Schools in 1963. She went to work as a window display designer at a Monroe clothing store and later in Ann Arbor at Moore’s Hallmark and gift store. She had the gift of color and could design not only beautiful rooms but also merchandise display, where she also did work for Cabela’s in Dundee.

She married her high school sweet heart, Paul Waterstradt in Dundee on April 15th 1967. Paul served in the Marine Corps and Terry traveled with him to various state side bases during his enlistment. She was a vivacious friendly person who loved kids, dogs and people. She had a ready smile for all she met whether old friend or new friend.

While never blessed with children, she always had a special place in her heart for nieces and nephews considering them her own. She had strong faith in the Lord and was a member of several prayer groups at her home church of Bayview Wesleyan Church in Traverse City.

Cremation has already taken place. There will be a memorial service at Bayveiw Wesleyan Church on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11:00 am with family hour at 10:00. The church will provide a luncheon immediately following the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in LaSalle, MI at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Theresa’s name to the Alzheimer's Association; Bayview Wesleyan Church, Mission fund or Hospice of Michigan, Traverse City.
