The Beautiful Life of Victor George Jarrett

Victor George Jarrett, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2019. He was born November 28th, 1932 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Victor and Augusta. He has a younger brother Doug.

Growing up he would go to Leroy for his summer vacation and spend it with his aunt and uncle at their farm. He loved helping them with the animals and farm.

Vic joined the Air Force during the Korean War as a weather observer. After he returned from fulfilling his duty in the service, he met the love of his life Ella Jane in Grand Rapids.

He married his beautiful best friend Jane on September 8, 1962. He and Jane enjoyed camping up North and traveling to places like Hawaii and Alaska. Victor and Jane moved to Traverse City where he worked for Consumers Energy for over 30 years. He retired in 1993 and loved spending his winter down in Texas and Arizona with his wife and friends.

Vic made friends everywhere he went and was loved by many especially his conversations with them. He loved to hunt, fish and play cards with his friends. He also enjoyed watching wildlife especially the trip he took with his brother to Wyoming where they watched herds of elks.

He loved his three girls Mai Xiong, Mai Ia and Mai Ze. He enjoyed playing dominos and going out to eat with them. He also loved his granddog Ginko and spoiled him with extra cookies when his mother was not looking.

Victor was loved by his devoted, patient and loving wife Jane until his last day. Vic and his wife dedicated their life to each other for over 50 years. Jane loved her husband and stood by his side every day. Vic always said he was a lucky man to have his Ella Jane not only as his best friend and the love of his life but as his wife.

His wife Jane would like to thank their families and friends for being there for her and Vic over the years. She also wants to thank Beth and Ragina from Medilodge for taking care of her husband during his stay.

An informal gathering will be held 11 am to 2pm on Saturday September 21, 2019 at the Life Story Funeral Home for family and friends.

Please sign the guestbook and share your thoughts and memories with his family.
