Virginia M. Garland, 87, of Traverse City died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 at Bortz Health Care of Traverse City.
Virginia was born on March 18, 1926 in Holland, Mich., the daughter of Neils and Jeanetta Harss.
Virginia graduated from Paw Paw High School. She then graduated from Olivet College in 1948 with a vocal music major.
She married Howard Garland in Paw Paw in December 1948.
She is survived by her husband, Howard F. Garland; children, Camilla (Greg) Williams, John (Sandra) Garland, Bob (Kate) Garland, David (Pam) Garland, Jim (Jean) Garland, Tom (Jane) Garland; 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two more on the way.
She loved music, socializing with friends from church and just loved all people. She loved her family.
Her body will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church where the family will greet friends starting at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw.
