Wayne C. Layman Sr.

Wayne Charles Layman Sr., 79, of Mancelona, died Thursday, February 8, 2024. He was born on March 21, 1944, in Wilcox, Arizona the son of Rudson Layman and Evelyn (May) Layman.

Wayne graduated from Atlanta High School in Atlanta, MI and entered the Army soon after. Wayne returned home from the military to live in Flint, MI where he met and married Janet Irene Anderson on March 8, 1969, in Flint, Michigan. Wayne and Janet lived in Flint and Clio, Michigan. Wayne moved permanently to the Bellaire area in 1988.

Wayne loved cooking, especially barbecuing, hunting, fishing and meeting family and friends for happy hour.

Wayne is survived by his sons, Wayne Layman Jr. of Howell, MI, Brett Layman of Casper, WY and stepson Matt Allen of Chocowinity, NC; grandchildren, Chelsea, Zach, Alec, Elina, Wyatt, Ashleigh, and Autumn; great grandchildren, Tatum.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Lynn and brother Dwight.

Memorial Services will be announced in the Summer of 2024.
