William Benton

William Thomas Benton, 59, of Kingsley died Friday, October 28, 2022. He was born August 1, 1963, in Chicago, IL, to Robert Monroe and Wilma Marie (Searles) Benton.

William married his wife, Ruth, on October 27, 1989, in Traverse City. Together they owned and operated Benton Adult Foster Care home in Kingsley, where they cared for those with special needs.

He loved to fish, deer hunt, do yard work, gardening, and canning, along with home renovations. He also loved his two furry friends Cole and Boots.

William is survived by his devoted wife Ruth Benton; his devoted stepson, Isaac (David); his sisters, Ruth (Don) Sterzik and Kimberly (Richard) Randall; and many friends and acquaintances.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Benton; his mother, Wilma Benton; his brother, Robert Benton; and sister Debra Turner.

An informal gathering will take place 11 am to 2pm, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Life Story Funeral Home. The family would like friends to dress casually and comfortable to wear camo cloth in honor of William.
