Zelma Reichert, 82, of Traverse City, died Saturday, May 14, 2022, peacefully at home.
She was born on June 21, 1939 in Wayne, West Virginia, the daughter of James Ira and Shirley B. (Stiltner) Gilkerson.
Zelma was a dedicated member of Munson Medical Center for over 20 years. Zelma and her late husband, John owned Reichert Steamers for many years gathering numerous accolades and awards as an outstanding business in the Traverse City area.
In her free time, Zelma was a dedicated member of LifePoint Bible Church, an avid Bingo player, and Gardner. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and truly loved her work at Munson Medical Center.
Zelma was a devoted wife, loving mother, wonderful grandma, and fabulous Super Gram and Grammy.
She is survived by her sister, Geneva Thacker of West Virginia; son, Doug Reichert; grandchildren, Melinda (Jay) Reichert-Piatt, Kyel (Elizabeth) Campbell, Mark (Amanda) Reichert; and great-grandchildren, Reed Reichert, Cash and Ace Piatt, and Lillianna Campbell.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Reichert; son, Jerry Campbell; daughter Linda Reichert; brothers and sisters, James (Dick) Smith, Oakley Gilkerson, Ira Gilkerson Jr., and Loranne Lauderman.
Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the LifePoint Bible Church (1249 3 Mile Rd South).
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Munson Regional Healthcare Foundation, designate Women’s Cancer Fund.
